Fastned, the Dutch operator of fast-charging stations for electric vehicles, reported a 44% year-on-year increase in charging revenue in the third quarter of 2025, continuing the strong growth seen in the first half of the year. The company said revenue reached €31.5 million, supported by record levels of energy sales and charging sessions.
Energy sales rose 32% to 46.8 GWh, while the number of charging sessions increased 27% to 1.7 million compared with the same quarter last year. Fastned estimated that these charging sessions helped avoid 42.4 kilotonnes of CO₂-equivalent emissions. Gross profit climbed 40% to €25.4 million, although the company did not disclose net profit or EBITDA figures for the quarter. In the first half of 2025, Fastned reported a positive EBITDA but a net loss of €18.3 million due to continued investment in expansion.

Fastned said its network reached 380 stations across Europe by the end of the quarter, with the average number of chargers per site rising from 6.0 to 6.4. Daily charging sessions per station increased from 45 to 49, resulting in an average daily energy sale of 495 MWh per location. “Our Q3 results show how our concept continues to outperform the market – and the only way is up,” said CEO Michiel Langezaal. “Fastned is now a pan-European company, scaling fast and playing a vital role in Europe’s transition, both on and off the motorway.”
During the third quarter, the company opened 19 new charging stations, including its first location in Spain, two sites in Gentbrugge, Belgium, and its first fast-charging park directly on a German motorway. Fastned expects to surpass 400 operational sites by the end of 2025 and has secured over 100 additional sites toward its long-term target of 1,000 stations by 2030.

The company is also preparing to launch an innovative indoor drive-thru fast-charging park in Aberdeen, Scotland, slated to open in winter 2026. The site will feature 12 charging points with 400 kW capacity and customer amenities including seating and restrooms. Fastned said more than half of its network is now located outside the Netherlands and that it plans to complete its third bond issuance of 2025 by the end of October to support further expansion.
