Volkswagen has just introduced its Volkswagen ID electric car technology. Buzz virtually (9/3). As is well known, Volkswagen ID. Buzz is here to complete the Volkswagen ID electric car family with ID.3, ID.4, ID.5, and ID.6.

ID. Buzz is also VW’s first MPV or people mover electric car which was developed based on the Modularer E-Antriebs Baukasten (MEB) platform.

One of the interesting things about Volkswagen ID.Buzz is the exterior appearance that has retro design elements. Different from other ID electric cars are rounded, ID design elements. Buzz takes inspiration from the Volkswagen T1.

The inspiration for the Volkswagen T1 can be seen from the tall box body, almost flat front fascia, and very short overhangs.

“The Volkswagen T1, an icon of the 1950s, represents freedom and the democratization of mobility,” said Jozef Kabaň, Head of Volkswagen Design.

“With ID. Buzz, we are transferring the DNA of T1 into the present and into the era of electric mobility and sustainability,” added Kabaň.
Volkswagen T1’s impressions on ID. Buzz is reinforced by the use of two-tone colors such as Candy White and Lime Yellow, Starlight Blue, Energetic Orange or Bay Leaf Green.

Even though it has a box body like the Combi or Multivan, it doesn’t mean Volkswagen ID. Buzz is not aerodynamic. Volkswagen claims ID. The Buzz MPV version has a drag coefficient of 0.285 Cd, almost equivalent to the Volkswagen ID.4.

While for ID. Buzz Cargo, it has a slightly larger drag coefficient of 0.29 Cd. With this low drag coefficient, Volkswagen calls ID.Buzz to have lower energy consumption and longer mileage.

Unfortunately until this news was revealed, Volkswagen still had not mentioned the ID mileage claim. Buzz or ID. Buzz Cargo.
