EV Roadway has opened a new high-power DC fast-charging station at the Vintage Oaks Shopping Center in Novato, California, expanding public charging capacity along the U.S. Highway 101 corridor, the company said on Tuesday.
The site features three Autel MaxiCharger DH480 units, each capable of delivering up to 480 kilowatts, allowing multiple electric vehicles to charge simultaneously. The chargers use liquid-cooled technology and are designed for high-traffic commercial environments, EV Roadway said.

Located in Marin County, the charging hub is positioned within a retail and dining complex, enabling drivers to charge while visiting nearby businesses. “As a family-owned company rooted right here in Novato, it was important for us that this project be more than just an infrastructure deployment,” said Tim Salyers, founder and chief executive of EV Roadway.
City officials welcomed the addition, citing accessibility and convenience. “EV Roadway has delivered a charging experience in an excellent, highly convenient location at Vintage Oaks,” said Gretchen Schubeck, sustainability coordinator for the City of Novato.

The Autel MaxiCharger DH480 system is approved under California’s CALeVIP incentive program and includes intelligent power management to support high uptime, according to the companies. Michelle Luo, chief executive of Autel Energy North America, said the equipment was selected to meet the needs of busy commercial sites. “We’re proud to support their work at Vintage Oaks with our CALeVIP-approved MaxiCharger DH480 technology,” Luo said.
The project was developed over nearly two years in partnership with CrossPoint Realty Services, which manages the Vintage Oaks Shopping Center. “Working closely with EV Roadway over nearly two years, we were able to thoughtfully bring this project from concept to a fully energized charging site,” said Kathy DeOchoa, CrossPoint’s director of property management.

The new station adds to California’s growing network of high-speed chargers as utilities, municipalities and private operators seek to support rising EV adoption and reduce charging bottlenecks along major travel routes.
