Electrify America has opened a large electric vehicle charging station in Santa Monica, California, featuring 20 “Hyper-Fast” chargers capable of delivering up to 350 kilowatts each. For compatible EVs, the system can add roughly 20 miles of range per minute, the company said.
The station, located at 1802 Santa Monica Boulevard near the I-10 freeway, operates around the clock, has on-site security cameras, and is powered by 100% renewable energy through renewable energy certificates.
The facility is part of Electrify America’s strategy to build larger charging hubs with higher capacity, following recent openings in San Francisco and San Diego.
Since deploying its first 350 kW charger in 2018, Electrify America has expanded to more than 1,000 stations and 5,000 chargers across North America. In 2024, the company delivered over 16 million charging sessions, supplying more than 600 gigawatt-hours of energy, a 65% increase from the prior year.
Santa Monica’s new hub is designed to meet rising demand for fast charging. Electrify America said it expects even more EV drivers to seek high-speed charging in 2025, and plans to scale up both its network and technology to accommodate growth.
