ECARX announced it will deepen its cooperation with Volkswagen Group by supplying intelligent cockpit technologies for several Volkswagen-brand models destined for the Latin American market.

The move follows a sourcing nomination under Volkswagen’s GEI program and marks the second collaboration between the companies this year.

The new agreement builds on the partnership formed in March, when ECARX and Volkswagen Group first outlined plans to integrate ECARX’s cockpit systems into Volkswagen and Škoda vehicles. Under the latest deal, ECARX will deliver its Antora® computing platforms and Cloudpeak cross-domain software platform across multiple upcoming Volkswagen models. Vehicles equipped with Google Automotive Services (GAS) will use the Antora® 1000 platform, while entry-level models without GAS will adopt the Antora® 500 to ensure consistent user experience across the lineup.

Google Automotive Services provides a suite of features, including Google Maps, Google Assistant or Gemini-based voice services, and access to apps through Google Play. ECARX noted it has reduced the typical 12–18-month certification cycle for GAS integration to eight months by implementing optimized development processes aligned with Google best practices.

The Antora® 1000 platform, powered by SiEngine’s 7nm automotive-grade “StarDragon No.1” processor, is the company’s fourth-generation cross-domain computing solution and has received approvals from major regulatory markets.

Complementing this hardware, the Cloudpeak software platform—built on Android Automotive OS and Linux—supports Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and various phone-to-vehicle connectivity options, while offering flexibility for integrating GAS or other software ecosystems.

Commenting on the expanded collaboration, ECARX Co-founder, Chairman, and CEO Ziyu Shen said the new agreement demonstrates mutual confidence and continued progress between the two companies.

Alexander Seitz, Chairman of Volkswagen Group South America, added that the partnership has advanced quickly since March and that extending the cooperation will help bring ECARX’s intelligent cockpit technologies to a broader range of Volkswagen models across Brazil and the Latin American region.
