Dongfeng Motor and Huawei’s jointly developed automotive brand Yijing is set to launch its first model, an SUV available in both battery-electric and extended-range electric variants, in the third quarter of 2026, Chinese media outlet Lanjinger reported.

Dongfeng officially announced the Yijing brand at Huawei’s Qiankun Ecosystem Conference on Nov. 20, confirming that the debut model will be unveiled at the Beijing auto show in April 2026. The brand plans to introduce one new model each year.

“The brand will launch one new model every year,” said Wang Junjun, general manager of Dongfeng eπ Automobile Technology.

Yijing will adopt a retail and delivery model similar to Qijing, the premium electric brand jointly built by GAC Group and Huawei, with user centers and storefronts located in large shopping malls, the report said. User centers will also function as vehicle delivery hubs.

The Yijing project, previously known internally as the “DH Project,” formally began in January this year when Dongfeng and Huawei signed a strategic agreement on intelligent vehicle development in Shenzhen. A joint laboratory focusing on in-vehicle software and artificial intelligence applications was later inaugurated in September.

The launch adds to Huawei’s expanding automotive ecosystem beyond its five-brand Harmony Intelligent Mobility Alliance (HIMA), which posted record deliveries of 81,864 vehicles in November across partner brands including Seres’ Aito, BAIC’s Stelato, Chery’s Luxeed, JAC’s Maextro and SAIC’s Shangjie.
