Dongfeng Moto announced at Huawei’s Qiankun ecosystem conference that its jointly developed automotive brand with Huawei will be named Yijing (奕境 in Chinese). The brand marks the first collaboration of its kind between a Chinese state-owned automaker and a technology company.
Wang Junjun, general manager of Dongfeng eπ Automobile Technology, said Yijing’s first model is scheduled to debut at the Beijing auto show in April 2026, with the company planning to launch one new model annually. The brand’s official Weibo account was activated following the announcement, identifying the operational entity as Dongfeng eπ’s sales company.
The new brand was previously referred to as the “DH Project.” Dongfeng and Huawei have been collaborating on intelligent vehicle technologies since signing a strategic cooperation agreement in Shenzhen in January 2025. Their partnership expanded in May to include Huawei’s Qiankun smart driving and HarmonySpace cockpit systems, and a joint laboratory focusing on in-vehicle software and AI applications was inaugurated in September.
At the same event, GAC Group (HKG: 2238) and Huawei introduced their jointly developed brand Qijing, which will also debut its first model at the April 2026 Beijing auto show. Liu Jiaming, appointed CEO of Qijing in September, said the brand plans to launch two additional models by mid-2026.
Huawei’s broader automotive involvement includes the HIMA (Harmony Intelligent Mobility Alliance) initiative, which currently spans five brands: Aito, Luxeed, Stelato, Maextro, and Shangjie. Observers note that the level of Huawei’s engagement in the Yijing and Qijing partnerships may be more limited compared with its HIMA collaborations.
