BYD’s premium brand Denza will officially launch its N8L large six-seat SUV later this month, Li Hui, the brand’s general manager, said on Weibo.

The announcement follows strong interest in the model since pre-sales began in late September, particularly among family buyers seeking comfort, space, and performance.

Pre-sales for the Denza N8L opened on September 26, with two variants priced from RMB 319,800 ($44,870) and RMB 349,800. The N8L is a large plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) measuring 5,200 mm in length, 1,999 mm in width, and 1,820 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,075 mm. It can be viewed as a slightly smaller sibling to the Denza N9 flagship SUV launched in March.

Powered by BYD’s e3 technology, the N8L features a three-motor independent drive system with rear-wheel steering. It combines a 1,995-ml engine producing 152 kW with electric motors delivering a total peak output of 560 kW (751 horsepower), allowing the SUV to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.9 seconds. The vehicle is equipped with BYD’s signature Blade battery, offering a CLTC-rated electric range of 230 km, and a total combined range of up to 1,300 km when fully charged and fueled.

Inside, the N8L caters to family comfort and entertainment, featuring a built-in refrigerator, a large rear-seat entertainment screen, and integration with BYD’s DeepSeek AI model for intelligent in-car assistance. The new model replaces the previously launched N8 hybrid SUV, which has since been discontinued, and introduces a refreshed exterior design and upgraded technology suite tailored for the premium family SUV market.
