Denza, the premium brand of China’s BYD, will officially launch its latest SUV, the N9, on March 21, following a month of pre-sales, the company announced on Weibo.
Denza, which began previewing the N9 in October 2024, said it will hold a launch event in Shenzhen, where BYD is headquartered. “The Denza N9 will reshape the value of luxury flagship SUVs to a new benchmark,” the company stated on Weibo.

The N9, a six-seater hybrid, measures 5,258 mm in length, 2,030 mm in width, and 1,830 mm in height, with a 3,125 mm wheelbase, according to its regulatory filing. It will compete with Li Auto’s Li L9 and Aito’s M9, which start at RMB 409,800 ($56,300) and RMB 469,800, respectively.
Denza has equipped the N9 with BYD’s e3 technology, which includes a three-motor independent drive and dual-motor rear-wheel steering. The SUV can accelerate from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in under four seconds. The model has a CLTC battery range of over 200 kilometers and a total range of 1,300 kilometers with a full charge and fuel tank.

Pre-sales for the N9 began on February 21, with a price range of RMB 450,000 to RMB 550,000 ($62,000 to $75,800). Customers can place a RMB 2,000 deposit for a priority purchase option on a limited first edition.
The Denza N9 will be the brand’s flagship SUV, joining its existing N7 SUV, Z9 sedan, Z9GT, and D9 MPV.
