Delta Electronics has unveiled its latest innovation in electric vehicle (EV) charging technology, the UFC 500, a 500 kW fast charging station designed to meet the high-power charging needs of operators while addressing space limitations.

The UFC 500 features a compact footprint and can simultaneously charge two electric vehicles at 250 kW each. Delta emphasizes the station’s “excellent power-to-footprint ratio,” making it an ideal solution for operators facing space constraints. The station is suitable for public installations, depots, and fleet solutions, offering various charging port positions to accommodate heavy electric lorries and buses.

One of the standout features of the UFC 500 is its new cable management system. A movable arm installed on the roof of the charging station extends the range of the charging cable by up to four meters, enhancing flexibility and convenience for users.

Delta has integrated SiC semiconductors into the rectifier module to achieve higher efficiency. The company’s patented internal circuit topology results in a compact, lightweight power module that is easy to handle for maintenance technicians. Commissioning and administration have been simplified, making the UFC 500 a durable, long-term investment for operators.

The charging station also includes a credit card reader integrated directly into the column, allowing for use without a contract in public installations. Additionally, the UFC 500 can be integrated into Delta’s energy management system, DeltaGrid EVM, for load management, peak load avoidance, and reduced energy consumption.

Vincent Lin, Vice President of eMobility and Smart Energy Solutions at Delta EMEA, highlighted the UFC 500’s capabilities, stating, “The UFC 500 delivers ultra-fast charging capabilities and, through integration with our own EV charging management system DeltaGrid EVM and energy storage solutions, significantly reduces pressure on the grid.” He added, “This powerful combination exemplifies the perfect fusion of EV charging and smart energy management solutions, excelling in performance and efficiency to fulfill CPOs’ immediate and future charging requirements.”
