Renault recently leaked a new show car that is planned to be made in commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the Renault 5 model.
Based on the iconic Renault 5 Turbo model, the show car is rumored to carry a full-electric powertrain and draw design inspiration from the video game aesthetic of the 1980s.
With a fairly unique shape, accompanied by pixelated light fixtures, this show car looks like a futuristic cyberpunk style.
From the leaked images, the show car seems to carry a lot of motorsport influence with its distinctive wide-body fenders, a large rear wing, and what appear to be turbo-fan wheels.
This show car concept seems to predate the reincarnation of the latest full-electric Renault 5 model which is expected to rival the electric Mini and Fiat 500e starting in 2024.
Reportedly, Renault will show this car show on 22 September. It is not yet known whether this show car will only end up as a concept or enter the production kitchen.
