Electric cars are being developed by automotive manufacturers around the world. The reason is, this environmentally friendly vehicle will replace conventional machines that contribute pollution harmful to human health.

China is one of the productive countries in developing battery-based electric vehicles. Various studies were developed to make it easier for users.

Reporting from Autoevolution, currently researchers from China are developing electric cars that only use solar power to charge.

This development is unique, no electric car manufacturer has thought of this technology. Some startups such as Lightyear are also developing solar-powered cars, but still include conventional battery charging features.

But to bring solar panels in the car, is still a problem. Regarding the weight of the vehicle, which is sure to increase.

However, the research developed in Tianjin, China is unique, the car is mini in size, able to carry four people, and is equipped with an automatic steering system, the vehicle weight becomes lighter.

The solar panel is only 8.1 square meters, it can accommodate 7.6 kWh of power in sunny weather conditions. Power is used to charge the Li-ion battery 330 Wh/kg. In full condition, the car can go up to 75 kilometers.

This car has been shown at the World Intelligence Conference event some time ago. There are 42 companies and three universities involved in research and development. Only five months, the researchers made it, until it was shown to the public.
