U.S.-owned EV charging solutions provider ChargeTronix has unveiled a new range of charging systems, including what the company describes as the fastest fleet charging technology currently available on the market.
The newly launched Nexus Distributed Charging System delivers up to 1,280 kilowatts of charging power and is designed to serve electric trucks in classes 6 through 8. According to ChargeTronix, the system can charge a heavy-duty electric truck up to 80% in just 30 minutes. Capable of supporting up to 16 simultaneous outputs, the Nexus platform can either charge multiple vehicles over longer dwell times or provide rapid power to a single unit.
In parallel, ChargeTronix introduced its third-generation 240 kW chargers, targeting both fleet operators and passenger vehicle users. The updated units feature a larger interface, enhanced energy efficiency, and advanced safety features including flood and smoke detection. The chargers also offer intelligent power distribution across multiple connectors. Medium and light electric vehicles can be charged in as little as 20 minutes, while heavy-duty vehicles may require up to an hour.
“The transition to electrified fleets is inevitable, with more than 15,000 electric trucks added to the U.S. in 2024 alone,” said ChargeTronix CEO Xavier Landavazo. “Ensuring that the infrastructure to support fleets during this transition and onward will be critical to addressing bottom lines and minimizing downtime. Our latest product suites are paving the way for the deployment that meets the highest standards of performance, compliance, and reliability.”
ChargeTronix plans to showcase the new systems at the 2025 Advanced Clean Transportation (ACT) Expo in California from April 28 to May 1. The event will serve as a platform for the company to present its Nexus Distributed Charging System and its 240 kW suite to a broader industry audience.
The megawatt charging market is seeing growing competition, with companies such as Milence, DAF Trucks, TotalEnergies, and Mahle accelerating development of MCS (Megawatt Charging System) infrastructure and components. Founded in 2022, ChargeTronix enters this evolving space as interest in high-capacity fleet electrification continues to build.
