Changan Automobile’s sub-brand Nevo has launched the updated Q05 small electric SUV at the opening of the 2025 Guangzhou auto show on Friday, positioning the model as a low-cost competitor to vehicles such as the BYD Yuan Up. The new Q05 is available exclusively as a battery electric vehicle, with prices starting at RMB 79,900 (USD 11,230).
The Q05 measures 4,539 mm in length, 1,865 mm in width and 1,680 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,656 mm. This places it slightly larger than BYD’s Yuan Up, which has a length of 4,310 mm and a wheelbase of 2,620 mm.

Nevo is offering six BEV variants of the Q05, priced from RMB 79,900 to RMB 109,900, compared with the Yuan Up’s current range of RMB 74,800 to RMB 119,800.
The model is equipped with a front motor delivering 120 kW of maximum power and 190 Nm of peak torque, supporting a top speed of 160 km/h.
Battery options include 40.3-kWh and 51.9-kWh packs, enabling CLTC ranges of 405 km and 506 km respectively. The two highest-priced variants add LiDAR sensors to support enhanced smart driving functions.

The Q05 supports 3C fast charging, allowing drivers to add up to 120 km of range with a 15-minute charge. Nevo, launched in August 2023, now offers a lineup that spans sedans, SUVs and pickup trucks, including the A05, A07, Q05, Q07, E07, K50 and Lumin.
