The United States Army has received the latest electric pickup Light Tactical Vehicle (LTV) from Canoo for analysis and demonstration in fulfillment of a contract awarded in July 2022.
The LTV or light tactical vehicle will be used for extreme environments including camouflage configurations. A vehicle designed to last with a focus on occupant and battery safety, the LTV incorporates carbon Kevlar for the body without the added weight.
“LTV is another milestone that proves the power of our technology and how it can be used, even in tactical situations,” said Canoo Chairman & CEO Tony Aquila.
This light tactical vehicle, says Tiny, can be converted from a pickup to a flatbed truck, cargo vehicle, and more. With a convertible flatbed platform, the LTV can easily transport standard-size plywood, construction materials, and oversized materials, as well as tactical or logistical equipment for missions required.
“The Canoo bed and accessory floor system can be exchanged for a flatbed with many other types of mounts including racks, storage boxes, awnings, or tactical systems. The body floor adjustments allow LTV to have mission-specific configurations at a lower total investment cost,” he said.
LTV Canoo has an all-wheel-drive system and has a power of 600 hp. To support off-road terrain, the LTV incorporates air springs, suspension can be raised, and 32-inch AT tires for higher ground clearance and is suitable for extreme conditions or rocky roads.
Canoo vehicles are designed on a multi-purpose platform that integrates all the important components of the electric powertrain so that they can be used as efficiently as possible while maximizing cabin and cargo space.
In appearance, this Canoo pickup looks unique unlike vehicles in general, the head is made curved unlike other pickups, the design is more futuristic and the use of lights is more minimalist like future vehicles.
