BYD will bring its Yangwang U9 to Gran Turismo 7, marking the first appearance of a Chinese-made supercar in the popular PlayStation racing title.

The announcement comes after the U9 set a new Nürburgring Nordschleife lap record, completing the 20.832 km circuit in 6 minutes 59.157 seconds, making it the fastest production electric vehicle to navigate the track and the first EV to finish in under seven minutes.

Built on BYD’s e⁴ Platform with a 1200V ultra-high-voltage system and four high-performance motors, the Yangwang U9 delivers exceptional acceleration and handling.

It also features advanced body-attitude control technology, redesigned cooling systems, titanium-alloy carbon-ceramic brakes, and semi-slick GitiSport e·GTR² PRO tires, enabling it to excel on both track and top-speed challenges.

This gaming debut follows a similar move by Polyphony Digital, the developer of Gran Turismo, which in June announced a partnership with Xiaomi to bring the SU7 Ultra into the game, still under development.
