BYD’s premium new energy vehicle (NEV) brand, Yangwang, is poised to reveal a groundbreaking supercar platform and a concept car based on e⁴ technology at the upcoming Guangzhou auto show on November 17.

The highly-anticipated unveiling, scheduled for 10:20 am Beijing time, is expected to showcase two undisclosed technological breakthroughs that aim to push the boundaries of performance and safety within the automotive industry.

Yangwang, which made its debut in January with the introduction of the Yangwang U8 off-road SUV and the Yangwang U9 supercar, is positioning itself at the forefront of innovation in the electric vehicle market.

The Yangwang U8, already on sale with deliveries anticipated to commence later this month, represents the brand’s commitment to cutting-edge electric SUVs. Meanwhile, the launch date for the Yangwang U9 supercar is yet to be officially announced.

At the core of Yangwang’s technological foundation is the e⁴ platform, which was highlighted during its January launch event. Touted as China’s first mass-produced quad-motor independent drive technology platform, the e⁴ boasts quad-motor independent vector control technology, enabling precise control of the vehicle’s four-wheel dynamics. The platform sets the stage for all future models under the Yangwang brand.

The Guangzhou auto show, commencing on Friday with a media day on November 17, will attract professional visitors from November 18 to November 19, followed by open days for the general public from November 20 to November 26.

Under the BYD umbrella, the brands will prominently feature in Hall 4.2 on the 2nd floor of Zone A. Yangwang is slated to occupy Booth 2D05, while BYD will be showcased in Booth 2D06.

As Yangwang takes the spotlight in Guangzhou, industry enthusiasts and professionals await the unveiling of its latest technological marvels, anticipating their potential impact on shaping the future landscape of electric vehicles.
