BYD’s UK division has announced pricing and updated specifications for the 2026 Seal electric sedan, introducing a range of design and technology changes while maintaining its existing price structure.
The company said prices for the updated model will start at £45,730 for the Design variant, with the range-topping Excellence trim priced at £48,730. The vehicle is now available to order through local retailers across the United Kingdom.
BYD UK said the latest version of the Seal includes “a series of changes to enhance its appeal, including extra technology, greater storage capacity front and rear, plus new paint colours.” The revisions appear to focus largely on cosmetic and convenience-related updates rather than major drivetrain changes.
New features aimed at improving comfort and usability include a panoramic sunroof, a Dynaudio 12-speaker sound system, a 15.6-inch high-definition touchscreen and a new Driver Monitoring System.
The Seal continues to be powered by BYD’s Blade Battery, which uses cobalt-free lithium iron phosphate (LFP) chemistry. The battery has a capacity of 82.5 kWh, delivering a WLTP range of up to 354 miles for the Design variant and 323 miles for the Excellence version. The vehicle supports DC fast charging at up to 150 kW, enabling a 10% to 80% charge in approximately 37 minutes.
Performance specifications differ between the two trims. The Excellence model features an all-wheel-drive configuration producing 385 kW of power and 670 Nm of torque, with acceleration from 0 to 62 mph in 3.8 seconds. The rear-wheel-drive Design variant generates 226 kW and 360 Nm of torque, achieving 0 to 62 mph in 5.9 seconds. Both versions have a top speed limited to 112 mph.
The Seal is offered with a six-year or 93,750-mile vehicle warranty, along with a battery warranty of up to eight years or 155,350 miles.
