BYD has previewed its upcoming Da Han flagship sedan, revealing that the battery-electric version will offer a claimed driving range of 1,008 kilometers as the automaker expands its premium Dynasty lineup.
The Chinese new energy vehicle manufacturer said the new Dynasty 9-series sedan will make its public debut at the Chengdu Auto Show in August.

Flagship Sedan Targets Premium Segment
BYD announced the upcoming launch during an event in Xinjiang marking the delivery of the 10,000th Da Tang EV, the company’s flagship sport utility vehicle under the Dynasty brand.
Lu Tian, general manager of sales for BYD’s Dynasty lineup, said the Da Han combines D-segment proportions with a claimed 1,008-kilometer driving range.
“The Da Han combines D+ segment proportions with a range of 1,008 kilometers, embodying what a Dynasty 9-series flagship sedan should be.”
The company described the model as a flagship sedan designed to balance driving performance with everyday practicality.
According to BYD, the vehicle measures more than 5.2 meters in length and has a wheelbase exceeding 3.1 meters, positioning it above the existing Han sedan as the Dynasty brand’s first D-segment flagship sedan.
Multiple Powertrain Options Planned
Regulatory filings released in June indicate the Da Han measures 5,256 millimeters long, 1,999 millimeters wide and 1,510 millimeters high, with a wheelbase of 3,130 millimeters.
BYD has filed three versions of the model, including two battery-electric variants and one plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV).
The all-wheel-drive battery-electric version features a dual-motor powertrain producing a combined maximum output of 570 kilowatts, equivalent to 764 horsepower, with a claimed top speed of 270 kilometers per hour.
All variants will use BYD’s lithium iron phosphate (LFP)-based Blade Battery technology. The company is expected to equip the model with its second-generation Blade batteries, which support ultra-fast charging.
Debut Scheduled for Chengdu Auto Show
The Da Han will make its official debut at the 29th Chengdu Auto Show, which is scheduled to take place from August 21 to 30 in Chengdu, Sichuan Province.
BYD Previews 8-Series Tang EV With More Than 800 km Driving Range
The annual event is one of China’s five major A-class auto shows and attracted nearly 120 automotive brands last year.
The sedan will join the recently launched Da Tang SUV as part of BYD’s strategy to strengthen its presence in the premium vehicle segment.
The Da Tang, introduced in June, is priced between 239,900 yuan and 309,900 yuan and is equipped with second-generation Blade Battery technology. BYD says the all-electric SUV offers a maximum driving range of 950 kilometers, positioning it among the longest-range full-size electric SUVs currently available.
With the addition of the Da Han, BYD continues expanding its high-end Dynasty lineup as competition intensifies in China’s premium new energy vehicle market.
