The Chinese electric car manufacturer, BYD, managed to record fantastic sales throughout the first half of 2022. BYD managed to collect sales of 641,350 units or an increase of 314.9 percent from the previous period.
Thanks to its prowess in its sales sector, BYD has succeeded in displacing the crown as the best-selling electric car manufacturer through several new models being launched.
Meanwhile, Tesla, as the toughest competitor for the electric car segment, garnered total sales of 564,000 units. This figure is still an increase from the previous period of 46 percent. In the same period in 2021, Tesla recorded sales of 386,200 units.

Finding sales figures that are not better than BYD, Tesla CEO, Elon Musk, said this was indeed influenced by one of the important factors in car production.
“Supply chain disruptions in the last two years have been truly a nightmare, one after the other, and we’re not out of the woods yet,” said Elon Musk, as quoted by Bloomberg, some time ago.
Looking at the sales achieved by BYD during this period, it seems that this is in line with their target of selling 1.1 – 1.2 million electric cars this year.

For example, in June 2022, BYD managed to secure sales of 134,036 electric cars, or an increase of 224 percent from the previous year.
This is also supported not only by the features or technology developed, but the production capacity of BYD’s electric car has also increased significantly.
