BYD, the Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer, has reached a milestone with the opening of its 100th franchised dealership in the United Kingdom, less than two years after its market entry in April 2023.
The expansion underscores the company’s rapid growth and increasing footprint in the U.K. automotive sector.
The new retail locations bring most customers within an average drive time of 27 minutes to a BYD dealership. Recent openings include Canterbury, Chichester, Croydon, Ipswich, and Saint Albans, enhancing accessibility for prospective buyers across the country.
BYD said the growth has been supported by strong consumer demand for its electric and plug-in hybrid models, including the Seal-U SUV and the award-winning Dolphin Surf. The company highlighted the appeal of its technology-driven vehicles as a key factor in driving rapid adoption.
The manufacturer also pointed to the role of its retailer partners in expanding its presence. “The commitment of our dealership network has been crucial in helping us bring more BYD vehicles to roads across the U.K.,” BYD said, emphasizing the importance of collaboration with local partners.
