BYD has unveiled the Glory Edition updates for its Tang EV and Tang DM-p models, following a similar update for the Tang DM-i variant two months ago.
Today, the new energy vehicle (NEV) manufacturer launched the Glory Editions for the all-electric Tang EV and the hybrid Tang DM-p, reducing their starting prices as part of a continued strategy.
The Tang EV Glory Edition now starts at RMB 219,800 ($30,350), a reduction of RMB 30,000, or 12 percent, from its predecessor’s price of RMB 249,800.
Similarly, the Tang DM-p Glory Edition starts at RMB 229,800, down RMB 40,000, or 14.83 percent, from its predecessor’s price of RMB 269,800.
BYD’s lineup includes the Dynasty and Ocean series, with the Tang family serving as the flagship SUV within the Dynasty lineup.
The Tang family consists of the Tang DM-i, Tang EV, and Tang DM-p models. The Tang DM-i received its Glory Edition update on February 28.
The Tang EV Glory Edition is available in three variants with starting prices of RMB 219,800, RMB 239,800, and RMB 269,800, respectively. All variants receive a RMB 30,000 price reduction compared to the previous models.
The Tang EV Glory Edition boasts dimensions of 4,900 mm in length, 1,950 mm in width, and 1,725 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,820 mm. It offers battery pack options with capacities of 90.3 kWh, 108.8 kWh, and 108.8 kWh, providing claimed ranges of 600 km, 730 km, and 635 km, respectively.
On the other hand, the Tang DM-p Glory Edition is offered in three variants starting at RMB 229,800, RMB 249,800, and RMB 269,800, all of which are RMB 40,000 lower than the previous models.
The Tang DM-p lineup includes two regular models and a Warrior Edition, all featuring four-wheel drive and capable of accelerating from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in as little as 4.3 seconds.
