Bowlus Leads the Charge to a Fully Electric RV Industry

Bowlus is on a mission to become the first fully electric RV company in the world. Last year, the company launched its all-electric Bowlus Volterra, which was a tremendous success. Now, Bowlus is looking to electrify its entire lineup.

While the Bowlus RVs are trailers and do not have their own electric drivetrain, the Volterra boasts a battery management system that can be charged via a solar system. This feature provides travellers with electricity while off the grid, offering an environmentally-friendly and cost-effective alternative to traditional generators.

What sets the Volterra apart is its ability to charge the electric vehicle towing it, which is made possible by the 20 A Bowlus Emergency EV charge. This allows the Volterra to extend the range of an EV tow vehicle up to 65 miles, ensuring that adventurers can explore remote destinations without worrying about running out of power.

“Our move to fully electric is important because it sets a precedent,” says Geneva Long, founder and CEO of Bowlus. “Where most RV brands use old technology involving propane and gas or traditional batteries, we are making new ground, just like we always have. Picture yourself enjoying nature without the noise of a generator – it’s a fully immersive experience to be all-electric.”

Bowlus’ commitment to sustainable technology and innovation is paving the way for a more eco-friendly RV industry. By focusing on fully electric trailers, the company is not only reducing its carbon footprint but also offering travellers a more immersive and peaceful outdoor experience. As Long says, “We want to create a world where people can experience the joys of the great outdoors without leaving a negative impact on the environment.”
