Bentley Motors has officially opened its new Excellence Centre for Quality & Launch, a key facility designed to support the company’s shift towards electrification. The opening ceremony was attended by Gunnar Kilian, Member of the Board of Management at Volkswagen AG, alongside Bentley’s senior management.
The new facility is a central part of Bentley’s Beyond100+ strategy, which involves transforming the company’s product lineup to include electric vehicles. The Excellence Centre is designed to support the development of new technologies and the production of Bentley’s first battery electric vehicle (BEV). The facility aims to achieve zero environmental impact and set high standards for quality in luxury automotive production.

Located at Bentley’s headquarters in Crewe, UK, the Excellence Centre spans two floors and covers 8,000 square meters. It includes a production proving ground, a mini assembly line for testing BEV assembly, and a technical center for materials testing, vehicle analysis, and dimensional measurements, all focused on ensuring the performance and quality of future vehicles.

Andreas Lehe, Bentley’s Member of the Board for Manufacturing, highlighted the significance of the new facility, stating, “The Excellence Centre for Quality & Launch is a key building block for the successful delivery of the Beyond100+ strategy. The facility represents a significant step forward in transforming our historic Crewe site into a world-leading hub for sustainable luxury automotive production.”
