Battery-swapping electric scooters from Gogoro now available for operations in Singapore

Gogoro, the leading company in battery swapping technology for light electric vehicles, has expanded its operations to Singapore in a partnership with Cycle & Carriage Singapore (C&C) and food delivery service foodpanda. The pilot, which uses Gogoro 2 electric scooters, will offer insights to accelerate the adoption of sustainable mobility in Singapore.

Gogoro’s battery-swapping architecture enables riders to swap batteries in a matter of seconds instead of spending hours charging them, making them ideal for commercial use such as delivery scooters. “Enabling these delivery riders to adopt smart sustainable electric transportation can have an accelerated impact on a city,” said Gogoro’s founder and CEO Horace Luke.

Gogoro’s massive first-mover advantage includes more than 524,000 riders and over 1.1 million smart batteries in circulation. Its batteries account for over 370 million swaps to date across the company’s 12,200 battery swapping GoStations at over 2,504 locations, which have saved more than 250,000 tons of CO2 emissions.

As other companies, including KYMCO’s Ionex electric scooter and battery platform and Vammo, enter the market, they will have to compete with Gogoro’s established presence. Gogoro’s expansion into multiple countries including India, Indonesia, South Korea, Taiwan, Israel, and China has solidified its position as the leader in battery swapping technology.

Gogoro’s partnership with Cycle & Carriage Singapore and foodpanda in Singapore is a significant step in the company’s global expansion, showcasing its battery swapping technology’s efficiency and sustainability benefits. As the world continues to shift towards cleaner and more sustainable energy, Gogoro is leading the way with its innovative solutions.
