Bajaj-Husqvarna will start production of electric motorcycles in June

Era of electric vehicles are not only in demand by the four-wheeled vehicle industry, two-wheelers in this case such as what is done by Bajaj in collaboration with Husqvarna will start production of its first electric motorcycle in June 2022

The two companies that are collaborating, named their project Vector and the highly anticipated E-Pilen.

That being said, Bajaj holds a large market share in the Indian two-wheeler market, and has also invested heavily in mass-producing affordable light electric two-wheelers for sale both in the local market, as well as for export to neighboring Asia, as well as Europe.

Quoted from Ride Apart, Tuesday, Bajaj is known to have invested USD 40 million in a new production facility dedicated solely to producing electric vehicles.

The plant will have an area of ​​500,000 square feet, and will also have an annual production capacity of about half a million electric vehicles. The factory will handle operations such as fabrication, assembly, painting and quality assurance.

With this project, it will revive the Indian economy and will also provide Indians with much needed job opportunities, especially considering the past two challenging years, with India being badly hit by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The new plant is expected to start operating in June 2022. The plant will produce light and affordable electric vehicles which will then be sold in India and neighboring markets.

Now, the exact model that will be produced in the new facility has not been announced, but it is likely that it will be based on the already available Chetak electric scooter.
