Chinese autonomous driving company WeRide announced on November 10 that it has received official approval from the UAE federal government to launch fully driverless Robotaxi operations in Abu Dhabi. India to Test Nevomo’s Magrail Booster on Freight Trains Under New DP World Partnership
India will become the first country to test Nevomo’s magnetic levitation-based propulsion system on a conventional freight train, following a partnership between the Polish technology firm, DP World, and the Deendayal Port Authority (DPA). Under a memorandum of understanding, Nevomo will install its Magrail Booster system in the bogies of freight cars, marking the company’s first deployment of the technology. Electric vehicle (EV) sales in India more than doubled in the first half of the 2025-26 fiscal year, signaling a rapid expansion of the sector even as growth plateaus in many Western markets. According to The Times of India, citing data from the Federation of Automobile Dealers Association (FADA), 91,726 EVs were sold between April and September 2025, up 108% from 44,172 units in the same period a year earlier. DP World has expanded its fleet of electric internal terminal vehicles (eITVs) at Jebel Ali Port from 14 to 146 units, forming one of the largest electric port fleets in the Middle East. The vehicles are used to transport containers between quay cranes, yard stacks and terminal gates.
