The Volkswagen Group delivered 252,100 electric vehicles (EVs) worldwide in the third quarter of 2025, marking a 33.1% year-on-year increase. Over the first nine months, the German automaker sold 717,500 EVs, up 41.7% from the same period a year earlier. While overall growth remains robust, the company noted a slowdown in momentum. The Group’s EV deliveries surged 59% in Q1 and 37.6% in Q2, totaling 465,500 units in the first half of the year. Growth in Q3, though positive, reflected a normalization of market dynamics across key regions. See also: Volkswagen to Cut Dealer Margins on Electric Vehicles from 2026…

The European Parliament has approved a proposal by the European Commission to extend toll exemptions for zero-emission heavy goods vehicles (HGVs) until 2031, offering longer-term incentives for cleaner freight transport. The move aims to boost investment in electric and hydrogen-powered trucks as part of the EU’s broader climate-neutral transport strategy. Under current rules, electric and other zero-emission trucks are exempt from tolls only until December 31, 2025, after which they would be required to contribute to infrastructure costs. The Commission’s new plan, first proposed in June, extends this deadline to June 30, 2031, aligning with its action plan for the…

In a statement, Zero said the relocation reflects a “European boost” that has made the continent its “primary driver of growth.” The new headquarters in Noord-Scharwoude, North Holland, will serve as a central hub for administrative and sales operations, bringing together global teams to enhance coordination and…
General Motors said on Wednesday it has canceled a plan that would have allowed its dealers to continue offering a $7,500 federal tax credit on electric-vehicle leases after the government subsidy expired on September 30. The company had developed a temporary program through its lending arm, GM Financial, to purchase electric vehicles in dealer inventory and apply for the federal credit. The incentive would then have been rolled into lease terms for customers through the end of the year. GM decided to drop the plan following concerns raised by Republican Senator Bernie Moreno of Ohio, a former car dealer involved…
Siemens has expanded its fast-charging portfolio with the launch of the Sicharge Flex system at Busworld 2025 in Brussels, a next-generation charging solution capable of delivering up to 1.68 megawatts and supporting both CCS and the new megawatt charging standard (MCS), the company said. The Sicharge Flex is designed as a decentralized charging system comprising a control cabinet and multiple dispensers that can be located up to 300 meters away. Available in three cabinet sizes, the unit delivers between 480 kilowatts and 1.68 megawatts at 1,500 amps — exceeding competitors such as Alpitronic’s 1 MW HYC1000 and ABB’s 1.2 MW…

Sweden’s Electrical Safety Authority (Elsäkerhetsverket) has formally ended its supervisory proceedings against Norwegian charging company Easee, bringing to a close a two-year dispute over the safety of its Home and Charge wallbox products. The case began in February 2023, when regulators identified documentation shortcomings and questioned the built-in safety mechanisms of the devices. Instead of using a conventional residual current device (RCD), Easee relied on a system of software and sensors intended to replicate RCD functionality. While the company argued the design provided enhanced protection, authorities disagreed and imposed a sales ban, later echoed in other EU markets. See also:…
