Forge Battery, a subsidiary of Forge Nano focused on lithium-ion battery production, has received $100 million from the U.S. Department of Energy to increase production capacity at its North Carolina factory to 3 GWh per year. The funds will enable Forge Battery to begin construction of the Morrisville Gigafactory expansion in early 2025. Nissan has delayed the production of electric vehicles (EVs) at its Canton, Ohio plant, now pushing the start date to at least 2028.
