Thailand plans to introduce tax incentives for the manufacturing of plug-in hybrid vehicles (PHEVs), with changes potentially taking effect from 2026, pending approval, Deputy Finance Minister Paopoom Rojanasakul announced on Monday. Swedish public transport operator Svealandstrafiken has placed an additional order for 33 electric city buses from Volvo Buses, bringing its total order with the manufacturer to 106 units. The newly ordered Volvo 7900 Electric Articulated buses are set to enter service in Örebro in 2026. Earlier this year, Svealandstrafiken ordered 73 electric buses from Volvo, comprising 13 articulated city buses for Örebro and 60 regional buses for operations in Örebro County and Västmanland County. Chicago-area utility ComEd is partnering with Nuvve to explore the potential of bidirectional charging, using electric school buses to support the grid as part of a new pilot program set to launch in 2025. Electrify America Reports 50% Growth in Charging Demand, Plans 30% Network Expansion in 2025
U.S. charging provider Electrify America said demand for its electric vehicle (EV) chargers grew by 50% in 2024 as it looks to expand its network of 350 kW chargers across North America this year. The company, a subsidiary of Volkswagen, now operates over 4,800 public chargers at more than 1,000 locations, including 20 ‘Hyper-Fast’ chargers at its first indoor hub in San Francisco. Nio recorded an average of 97,800 daily battery swaps in February, driven by increased travel demand during the Chinese New Year holiday, the company said in a report on Wednesday. Dutch logistics provider Cornelissen Transport has placed an order for 27 electric trucks from German manufacturer MAN, as part of its plan to expand its zero-emission fleet. The first deliveries are scheduled for the end of June. Cornelissen, which currently operates 20 heavy-duty electric trucks, aims to increase its electric fleet to 80 units by the end of the year. H2 Mobility will shut down 22 smaller hydrogen refuelling stations for passenger cars by mid-2025, as the company moves to prioritize infrastructure for commercial vehicles.
