Kia America announced their vehicle sales report in the United States in March 2022. In total, Kia America sold 59,524 units of all vehicle types in the US in March. That’s a 10.5% decrease compared to the same month in 2021. But on the plus side, Kia’s electric car sales increased 55% year on year and hit a record high in March 2022. GM has received more than 65,000 reservations for GMC Hummer pickups and SUVs. GM itself made the first deliveries of the MC Hummer pickups at the end of last year. Harley-Davidson plans to sell its LiveWire electric motorcycle for the first time in 2026. Even the motorcycle manufacturer from the United States is targeting sales of its first electric motorcycle to reach 190,000 units by 2030. Yamaha is getting serious about playing in the electric motorcycle segment. After the Yamaha E01, the manufacturer is preparing a trial electric motorcycle for the Yamaha TY-E 2.0. British manufacturer, Lotus, will launch its first electric SUV named Eletre on Tuesday 29 March. Vitesco has just announced it received an order to manufacture electric vehicle components worth €2 billion, or the equivalent of US$2.20 billion. The company through its Chief Executive Andreas Wolf estimates that by 2022 there will be an increase in sales to at least €8.6 billion. Austrian electric vehicle startup Deus has revealed concept images of the Vayane electric hypercar that will debut next month at the 2022 New York Auto Show. Maersk and Einride have just announced a partnership for electrification of heavy goods road transport in the US. With this partnership, Einride will provide Maersk with a total of 300 electric trucks between 2023 and 2025. The electric trucks will be used in warehousing, distribution and transportation in North America.
