Audi is taking to the arena for the first time in the 2022 Dakar Rally. Interestingly, the German manufacturer has unveiled the RS Q e-tron electric car that will be driven by former champions such as Carlos Sainz and Stephane Peterhansel. The RS Q e-tron is equipped with two Motor Generator Units (MGU) that drive 4 wheels on desert sand. The power from these two MGUs reaches around 671 hp, but it will still be adjusted to the existing 2022 Dakar Rally regulations. Hyundai has reportedly stopped development of a car with a hydrogen-electric powertrain. In fact, the South Korean car manufacturer is one of the most vocal players in the effort to develop hydrogen-powered cars. Reporting from the Autoblog page today, Monday, January 3, 2022, an anonymous source told the South Korean media Chosunbiz, Hyundai executives stopped the development of hydrogen cars due to analysis of the results of a feasibility study. Tesla delivered nearly 1 million Electric Vehicles in 2021, with the Q4 setting new record
Tesla, on Sunday (2/1/2022), has announced their latest sales report. In the report, Tesla is reported to have delivered 308,600 electric vehicles in the fourth quarter of 2021. The sales number broke sales records in the previous quarter as well as analyst estimates. The automaker produced a total of 305,840 electric vehicles during the same period. During 2021, Tesla delivered 936,172 vehicles, an 87% increase compared to 2020, when the company reported its first annual profit thanks to shipments of 499,647 electric cars.
