Chinese automaker Geely has introduced its next-generation assisted driving system, G-ASD, positioning the platform as ready for Level 3 automated driving and outlining plans to expand higher-level functions as early as this year. The system was presented as an evolution of Geely’s earlier assisted driving technologies already deployed in several Lynk & Co models. Tesla recorded a second consecutive month of year-on-year growth in China-made vehicle sales in December, extending a late-year rebound after most of 2025 was marked by declining volumes. Tesla China’s wholesale sales reached 97,171 vehicles in December, “including both domestic sales and exports from China to overseas markets,” according to data released on Monday by the China Passenger Car Association. Nio said it will expand the availability of long-range battery packs across its battery swap network this month, as strong vehicle deliveries and rising demand continue to put pressure on its infrastructure. The Chinese electric vehicle maker said it will add more than 4,200 long-range battery packs for its main Nio brand in January, including 1,200 100-kWh packs and more than 3,000 102-kWh packs. Chinese electric vehicle maker Rox Motor reported record monthly deliveries in December, underscoring accelerating momentum as the company expands its footprint in overseas markets. Chinese new energy vehicle maker Leapmotor unveiled its first multi-purpose vehicle, the D99, and confirmed the launch schedule for its upcoming D19 sport utility vehicle, as the company continues to broaden its product portfolio amid intensifying competition in the domestic EV market. Geely Auto’s Xingyuan electric vehicle has surpassed 500,000 cumulative deliveries, marking a major milestone for one of China’s best-selling battery electric models, the automaker said on Tuesday. China’s GAC Group and technology firm Huawei plan to launch the first model under their jointly created premium electric vehicle brand Qijing in June 2026, according to information released by the brand on Wednesday.
