Porsche paid a $113 million fine to Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles as compensation for withdrawing from the production deal. According to a report, there has been an internal agreement within the Volkswagen Group to allow Porsche to build high-performance electric cars at its own production facilities, rather than at Volkswagen’s Hanover plant. Electric-vehicle startup E-Legend have revealed their first creation called the LF1, a coupe clearly inspired by the Audi Sport Quattro. That Quattro was a 1980’s Group B homologation special that was well known for it’s muscular haunches and black headlight housing. General Motors (GM) announced that it will produce all-electric heavy-duty (HD) trucks by 2035. The target coincides with the company’s plans to release a new all-electric light-duty vehicle. Magna has just introduced a new electric powertrain technology designed specifically for pickup trucks and light commercial vehicles called the EtelligentForce BEV Powertrain Solution. After announcing the ElectricDrive GT as an electric vehicle-only tire, tire manufacturer Goodyear announced that it has created a new line of tires made from 70 percent sustainable materials. Goodyear itself targets to use 100 percent sustainable materials for tire production by 2030. Tires with 70 percent use of sustainable materials that have been produced as a demonstration tire. After GM officially revealed the Chevrolet Silverado EV at the CES 2022 event, the first Edition of the RST was sold out within 12 minutes. This was revealed by GM CEO Mary Barra recently. The RST First Edition itself is priced at $105,000. Barra added that the Chevrolet Silverado EV work truck variant will be available in the spring of 2023, and is set to start shipping the RST First Edition in the fall.
