Australian logistics provider Centurion has integrated 20 battery-electric Mercedes-Benz eActros 300 trucks into its fleet, the company announced.
The deployment follows 15.8 million AUD (€9.26 million) in funding from the Australian Renewable Energy Agency (ARENA) to support the purchase of electric trucks and charging infrastructure.

The eActros trucks, supplied by Daimler Truck, will operate on metro routes in Perth, Western Australia, as Centurion aims to cut emissions in its freight operations. The company has also installed off-grid solar power and battery storage at its Hazelmere depot to support the new fleet.
“The introduction of 20 electric trucks is an important milestone in Centurion’s sustainability journey,” said CEO Justin Cardaci. “Partnering with Daimler has allowed us to bring world-class electric transport technology into our operations, reinforcing our commitment to reducing emissions while continuing to deliver reliable service to our customers.”

The Mercedes-Benz eActros 300 features three battery packs with a total capacity of 336 kWh, providing a range of up to 300 kilometers per charge, according to Daimler.
The funding from ARENA is part of a broader initiative to add 30 electric trucks to Centurion’s fleet and install 15 dedicated chargers.
