Audi will introduce a range of hardware and software updates to its A6 e-tron and Q6 e-tron electric model families for the 2027 model year in the United States, with availability expected from the second quarter of 2026.
The upgrades focus primarily on comfort, digital functionality and driving efficiency. Changes include a redesigned multimedia interface, a revised steering wheel that brings back a physical scroll wheel, and a new “Power Nap Mode” designed to create a more relaxing cabin environment during charging stops.

Audi has also refreshed the visual language of its digital displays and expanded individualisation options for front passengers. The updated system allows the passenger to stream video content through headphones while the driver listens to a separate audio source via the vehicle’s sound system. According to Audi, “the driver can listen to any source in parallel via the cabin audio system, except for the app in use by the passenger.”
On the technical side, the automaker has refined its regenerative braking system to enable smoother and more efficient one-pedal driving. In selected modes, the vehicles can now decelerate to a full stop using regenerative braking alone, without engaging conventional friction brakes under certain conditions. Audi said the recovered kinetic energy is redirected into the battery, which can contribute to improved efficiency and driving range.

Driver-assistance functions have also been expanded, particularly for low-speed manoeuvring and parking. The system can now autonomously complete the final approach to a parking space, provided the route has been previously stored. Audi said the vehicle can memorise up to five separate parking manoeuvres, each exceeding 200 metres, and execute them automatically on private property.
The updates underline Audi’s continued emphasis on software-driven enhancements as it expands its electric portfolio in the U.S. market, with the A6 e-tron and Q6 e-tron positioned as key models in its premium battery-electric lineup.
