Audi has introduced the third generation of its Q3 compact SUV, adding electrified powertrains, advanced lighting systems, and an updated interior aimed at combining practicality with digital convenience.
The new Q3, available as both SUV and Sportback, will launch in Germany starting in October with a base price of €44,600 ($48,000). A plug-in hybrid version offering up to 119 kilometers (72 miles) of electric range under the WLTP cycle will also join the lineup, alongside mild-hybrid and efficient combustion engines.

“With a total of more than two million vehicles sold worldwide since the launch of the first generation, the Audi Q3 is one of our best-selling models and has a high status in our product portfolio,” said Gernot Döllner, CEO of Audi AG. “With the third generation of the Audi Q3, we are renewing an important model family as part of our product initiative and strengthening our range with a powerful plug-in hybrid and efficient combustion engines.”
The new Q3 incorporates Audi’s micro-LED digital Matrix headlights for the first time in the compact segment, offering customizable light signatures and improved illumination. At the rear, digital OLED tail lights and a continuous LED strip further highlight the design updates.

Inside, the model adopts new steering column levers, an expanded digital interface, and optional acoustic glazing for improved cabin comfort. The SUV variant offers up to 1,386 liters of cargo space with rear seats folded, while the Sportback provides up to 1,289 liters.
Geoffrey Bouquot, Audi’s head of technical development, said: “With the Audi Q3 interior, we are transferring the digital stage from the full-size class to the compact segment. An innovative operating concept and numerous assistance systems increase safety and comfort and make the Audi Q3 the ideal digital companion for everyday life.”

The Q3 lineup also benefits from new driver assistance technologies, including adaptive driving assistant plus, trained parking, and driver-monitoring systems for drowsiness detection. Adaptive suspension and sports suspension remain available for improved ride balance.
The entry-level 1.5 TFSI petrol engine with mild-hybrid technology develops 110 kW, while the 2.0 TDI diesel is designed for longer-distance driving. Plug-in hybrid models provide 200 kW of system output and can fast-charge at up to 50 kW DC.
The Q3 Sportback will follow in November, priced from €46,450 ($49,900).
