Audi has opened UK order books for the updated Q4 e-tron, introducing a refreshed version of its electric compact SUV with improved range, faster charging capabilities and the brand’s first bidirectional charging functionality.

Priced from £46,260 on-the-road for the SUV variant, the updated Q4 e-tron is available in both SUV and Sportback body styles and across four trim levels: Sport, S line, Black Edition and Vorsprung. First customer deliveries are expected later this summer.

The revised model arrives as Audi seeks to build on the Q4 e-tron’s strong performance in the UK market, where it ranked as the country’s third best-selling electric vehicle in 2025 and Audi’s second best-selling model overall.

Range Increases to 360 Miles

The updated Q4 e-tron lineup is offered with three powertrain configurations, ranging from a rear-wheel-drive entry-level model to a dual-motor all-wheel-drive variant.

The entry-level Q4 e-tron uses a 63 kWh battery paired with a single rear-mounted electric motor producing 204 PS and 350 Nm of torque. Audi quotes a WLTP driving range of up to 274 miles and a 0-62 mph acceleration time of 8.1 seconds.

Above it sits the Q4 e-tron Performance, equipped with an 82 kWh battery and a more powerful rear-mounted motor delivering 286 PS and 545 Nm of torque. This version offers the highest range in the lineup at up to 360 miles (WLTP) and accelerates from 0-62 mph in 6.6 seconds.

The flagship Q4 e-tron Quattro Performance combines the 82 kWh battery with dual electric motors producing 340 PS and 680 Nm of torque. The all-wheel-drive model completes the 0-62 mph sprint in 5.4 seconds while offering a WLTP range of up to 337 miles.

Faster Charging Across the Range

Charging performance has also been improved across the lineup.

The 63 kWh version supports DC fast charging at up to 160 kW, while the 82 kWh Performance model can charge at up to 165 kW. The range-topping Quattro Performance offers the highest charging rate at up to 185 kW.

Audi has not disclosed official charging times but says the higher charging rates are intended to reduce time spent at public fast-charging stations.

Audi Introduces Bidirectional Charging

A key addition for the updated Q4 e-tron is bidirectional charging capability, making it the first Audi model to support the technology.

The system allows electricity to flow both into and out of the vehicle’s battery, potentially enabling energy storage and supply applications. Audi has not yet provided detailed information regarding supported vehicle-to-home or vehicle-to-grid applications, nor has it confirmed hardware requirements or regional availability for the feature.

Four Trim Levels Available

The refreshed Q4 e-tron range continues with four trim specifications.

Sport models come equipped with 19-inch alloy wheels, LED headlights, heated front sport seats, three-zone climate control, a 12.8-inch MMI Navigation Plus infotainment display and an 11.9-inch Audi Virtual Cockpit.

S line models add 20-inch alloy wheels, privacy glass, sports suspension, progressive steering and leather sport seats.

Black Edition introduces gloss-black exterior styling elements, Audi Sport alloy wheels, electrically adjustable heated front seats and auxiliary air conditioning.

At the top of the range, Vorsprung models feature Matrix LED headlights, OLED rear lighting, 21-inch alloy wheels, a panoramic glass roof, a front passenger display, a SONOS premium audio system and an augmented reality head-up display.

Sportback variants are priced £1,900 above the equivalent SUV models.

Building on Strong UK Demand

Commenting on the launch, Audi UK Director José Miguel Aparicio said the Q4 e-tron remains an important model for the brand’s electric vehicle strategy.

“The Audi Q4 e-tron has been a standout success for the brand in the UK. Last year it ranked as the third bestselling electric vehicle and Audi’s second best-selling model overall. With this latest round of updates, the fully electric model is well placed to build on that position in an increasingly competitive market.”

The updated Q4 e-tron joins Audi’s growing electric vehicle portfolio as competition intensifies in the premium compact electric SUV segment, where manufacturers continue to focus on improving range, charging performance and software functionality.
