Audi has officially unveiled the all-new 2025 Q6 Sportback E-Tron, a stylish coupe-style electric SUV that expands its Q6 E-Tron lineup. Building on the same Premium Platform Electric (PPE) architecture as the Porsche Macan, the Q6 Sportback E-Tron emphasizes a balance of performance, efficiency, and advanced technology.
The vehicle’s design, characterized by its sloping roofline and aerodynamics, contributes to a highly competitive range of over 400 miles on the WLTP cycle in its top configuration.
Two battery sizes and powertrain options are available for the Q6 Sportback E-Tron. The base model comes with a 75.8 kWh battery (83 kWh gross), offering a WLTP-rated range of up to 338 miles in a rear-wheel drive setup.
The higher-end version is equipped with a 94.9 kWh battery (100 kWh gross) and all-wheel drive, extending its range to 407 miles on a single charge. Despite expectations that these figures will be lower once tested under the EPA’s more stringent cycle, the Q6 Sportback E-Tron is set to become Audi’s most range-efficient model.
Compared to its more conventionally shaped sibling, the Q6 E-Tron SUV, the Sportback variant boasts a lower drag coefficient of 0.26, thanks to the re-engineered roofline, which sits 1.4 inches lower. This subtle design tweak not only enhances range but also gives the vehicle a sportier look, though it slightly reduces rear cargo space.
The Q6 Sportback E-Tron offers 18 cubic feet of storage in the rear, expandable to 48.4 cubic feet when the seats are folded flat. The front trunk provides an additional 2.2 cubic feet, the same as the SUV version.
Performance and Charging Capabilities
Audi’s Q6 Sportback E-Tron lineup includes several powertrain options, ensuring a range of performance levels to meet different driving preferences. The base rear-wheel drive version can accelerate from 0 to 62 mph in 7 seconds with Launch Control enabled.
Stepping up to the Q6 Sportback E-Tron Performance variant, drivers get 301 horsepower, shaving the 0-62 mph sprint time down to 6.6 seconds. The all-wheel drive models add a front motor, increasing the system output to 382 hp and achieving the 0-62 mph mark in 5.9 seconds.
For those seeking more power, the range-topping SQ6 version delivers 482 horsepower, allowing it to accelerate from 0 to 62 mph in just 4.3 seconds. This model also offers a range of 377 miles on the WLTP cycle, slightly less than the dual-motor all-wheel drive variant. The maximum top speed across all models is limited to 130 mph, except for the SQ6, which can reach 143 mph.
Charging performance is another key highlight of the Q6 Sportback E-Tron. The rear-wheel drive models with the smaller 75.8 kWh battery support a maximum charging rate of 225 kW, while those equipped with the larger 94.9 kWh battery can charge at up to 260 kW.
All-wheel drive versions further improve charging capability, offering a maximum rate of 270 kW. This allows for a 10-to-80 percent recharge in just 22 minutes. According to Audi, the Q6 Sportback E-Tron Performance can gain up to 165 miles of range in as little as 10 minutes at a compatible DC fast charger.
Interior, Technology, and Pricing
Inside, the 2025 Q6 Sportback E-Tron retains many features from its SUV counterpart. It comes standard with an 11.9-inch virtual cockpit display and a 14.5-inch infotainment touchscreen running Android Automotive OS. An optional third 10.9-inch passenger display is available, as well as an augmented reality head-up display system for added convenience and functionality.
The Q6 Sportback E-Tron also boasts high-quality materials and finishes, contributing to a premium driving experience. In terms of towing capacity, all-wheel drive trims can handle up to 5,291 pounds, while rear-driven versions offer a lower capacity of 4,409 pounds in Europe.
Audi has set the starting price for the Q6 Sportback E-Tron in Europe at 65,900 euros, with the high-performance SQ6 variant starting at 96,200 euros.
Production of the Q6 Sportback E-Tron will take place at Audi’s main factory in Ingolstadt, Germany. While pricing and availability for the North American market have yet to be announced, order books are expected to open at the beginning of next year, continuing Audi’s push into the premium electric vehicle market.
