Arcfox, the electric vehicle brand under Beijing Automotive Group (BAIC Group), has officially launched the upgraded Beta T1 compact electric vehicle in China, aiming to strengthen its position in the highly competitive affordable EV segment.

The new model, unveiled on June 16, succeeds the Arcfox T1 introduced in September 2025 and arrives with improved driving range, additional technology features and a lower ownership cost package designed to attract budget-conscious consumers.

Three variants priced below 80,000 yuan

The Arcfox Beta T1 is available in three variants with limited-time subsidized pricing ranging from 62,800 yuan ($9,290) to 78,800 yuan.

The entry-level Beta T1 350 Pro is priced at 62,800 yuan, while the 450 Pro carries a price tag of 68,800 yuan. The range-topping 450 Max starts at 78,800 yuan.

Arcfox is also offering purchase incentives valued at up to 21,000 yuan. The package includes lifetime free maintenance, a lifetime warranty on the vehicle’s core electric systems, and a five-year or 120,000-kilometer vehicle warranty.

Customers will additionally receive a 1,000-yuan subsidy toward their first year of mandatory traffic insurance.

Improved range and efficiency

The Beta T1 is powered by a front-mounted permanent magnet synchronous motor producing up to 95 kW.

Battery options include a 36.4-kWh pack and a larger 42.3-kWh unit, delivering CLTC-rated driving ranges of 350 kilometers and 450 kilometers, respectively.

The maximum range has increased compared with the previous model, which offered up to 425 kilometers.

Arcfox has also confirmed that a longer-range 550-kilometer version is scheduled to join the lineup within the next two months.

Refreshed design and larger dimensions

While the vehicle retains Arcfox’s family design language, several styling updates have been introduced.

The front fascia continues to feature a full-width headlight design, while the side profile adopts clean body lines and semi-hidden door handles.

The most significant exterior change is found at the rear, where the Beta T1 now features a full-width taillight assembly.

The vehicle measures 4,375 mm in length, 1,860 mm in width and 1,572 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,770 mm. Compared with its predecessor, the new model is slightly longer, increasing from 4,337 mm.

Enhanced technology and comfort features

Inside, the Beta T1 is equipped with a large floating central touchscreen powered by Arcfox’s α-OS intelligent vehicle operating system.

The vehicle includes a range of convenience and comfort features such as wireless smartphone charging for front-seat occupants, a powered tailgate, a panoramic glass roof, heated seats and a surround-view camera system.

Arcfox has also introduced sentry mode and integrated dashcam functionality. Existing T1 owners will receive both features through an over-the-air software update.

Competing in China’s affordable EV market

Arcfox was among the earliest Chinese EV startups but has struggled to maintain momentum in recent years amid intensifying competition from established manufacturers and newer entrants.

The launch of the Beta T1 reflects the brand’s renewed focus on affordability and value-oriented products.

With pricing positioned below 100,000 yuan, the Beta T1 will compete directly with popular compact electric vehicles including the BYD Dolphin and other entry-level battery-electric models targeting urban consumers.

As competition in China’s mass-market EV segment continues to intensify, Arcfox is betting that improved range, upgraded technology and attractive ownership incentives can help the Beta T1 regain consumer attention and boost the brand’s market presence.
