Lithuanian manufacturer Altas Auto has been selected as the primary supplier for mini and buses under a framework agreement with Deutsche Bahn, which runs until 2028. The agreement covers four models, three of which are electric, marking a significant step in the company’s collaboration with the German railway giant.
The electric buses included in the deal are the Novus City V7, Novus City N8, and Novus Cityline LW, all of which are compact, ranging from seven to eight meters in length, and designed for urban environments. While these models share a similar size, Altas Auto highlights their versatility, with each tailored for different operational needs.

For instance, the Cityline LW is ideal for narrow city streets and lower passenger capacity, seating 13 passengers with a total capacity of 22. It is built on a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter chassis, equipped with an asynchronous motor providing up to 150 kW and 1250 Nm of torque, with a range of up to 240 kilometers and a top speed of 80 kph. It is powered by a three-battery system, each offering 38.3 kWh of energy.
The Novus City V7, a 7.5-meter bus, is designed to navigate similarly tight urban streets and can carry up to 35 people, 18 of whom are seated. It features a more powerful permanent magnet synchronous motor, offering 200 kW peak power and 2450 Nm of torque, along with a range of up to 309 kilometers. This model is equipped with four LFP batteries from CATL, each providing 35 kWh, totaling 140 kWh of energy capacity.
The Novus City N8 is designed for high passenger volumes, capable of seating and standing up to 55 people, making it suitable for peak hour operations. However, specific technical details for this model were not available at the time of writing.

This framework agreement represents a major milestone for Altas Auto, as it marks the first direct partnership between the Lithuanian company and Deutsche Bahn. Previously, vehicle deliveries were facilitated through Altas’ German partners.
“This agreement is a huge milestone for us,” said Edvardas Radzevičius, founder of Altas Auto. “Our goal has always been to provide buses that help our clients succeed in their daily operations. Being chosen by DB shows that our approach is working, and we’re proud to continue supporting reliable and efficient urban transportation across Germany.”
