Aito, the automotive brand jointly developed by Huawei and Seres Group, will open pre-sales for its updated M7 sport utility vehicle (SUV) on September 5, the company said on Thursday.
The new version of the M7 was unveiled at the Chengdu auto show on August 29 and is scheduled for official launch on September 23. The model will be offered in both battery electric vehicle (BEV) and extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) variants, with options for five-seat and six-seat configurations.
Compared with the current model, the updated M7 is larger, measuring 5,080 mm in length, 1,999 mm in width and 1,780 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,030 mm. The outgoing version has a length of 5,020 mm, width of 1,945 mm, height of 1,760 mm and a 2,820 mm wheelbase.
The updated SUV will come standard with CATL-supplied batteries. EREV versions will carry 37 kWh and 53 kWh battery packs, offering a combined range of over 1,600 km when fueled and charged. BEV versions will feature a 100 kWh battery pack with a maximum range exceeding 700 km, Aito said.
Huawei’s high-voltage electric drive platform will also be integrated into the updated model, designed to improve efficiency while reducing size, weight and noise.
The Aito M7 was first launched in July 2022, followed by an updated model in September 2023. In 2024, the brand introduced the M7 Ultra in May and the Pro series in August. The current M7 lineup includes eight EREV variants with starting prices ranging from RMB 249,800 ($35,020) to RMB 329,800.
