Aehra Teases Electric Sedan to Challenge the Porsche Taycan, Set for June 16 Debut

The luxury electric vehicle (EV) market is about to welcome a formidable contender, Aehra. Despite being a fresh face in the industry, this Italian-American startup is fueled by ambition. Having already unveiled a stunning $160,000 SUV that blurs the line between a supercar and a conventional off-roader, Aehra has recently offered a glimpse of its next creation: an elegant electric sedan poised to challenge the likes of the Porsche Taycan.

Although the teaser images only provide partial views of the car, they offer enough insight to recognize that the concept, set to be revealed at the Milano Monza Motor Show next month, possesses a low-slung and voluptuous design that may outshine even the Taycan’s aesthetics.

One aerial shot displays a vehicle with a striking resemblance to an Aston Martin, while two waist-height shots accentuate the pronounced curvature of the fenders. Noteworthy details include a slim DLR blade beneath the hood, a discreet rear spoiler, and a small Italian flag badge adorning the D-pillar. However, perhaps the most captivating feature is the biplane door mirror, carried over from the SUV, which incorporates a camera within its end plane.

Comparing these images to earlier releases of the company’s SUV reveals a clear family resemblance. Nonetheless, the sedan’s profile stands out with its lower stance and more exaggerated curves. This bodes well for Aehra, as the company assures us that these visual promises will be fully realized. When the production car becomes available for purchase sometime before the end of 2026, it will closely resemble what is presented at the Milano Monza Moving Motor Show on June 16th.

“At AEHRA, we do not believe in creating unrepresentative concept cars, so when we unveil the new Sedan at the Milano Monza Moving Motor Show on June 16th, the car will look virtually identical to the final production model that will arrive in 2026,” stated Filippo Perini, Aehra’s design chief and former Lamborghini design boss.

In line with the Aehra SUV, which is set to hit the market in late 2025, the sedan will utilize a skateboard EV platform and feature a composite body. While specific powertrain details for the sedan have not been officially disclosed, it’s reasonable to assume that they will align with or closely match those of the SUV. This implies the possibility of a massive 120 kWh battery pack, offering an impressive range of 497 miles (800 km) and supporting 950-volt electrics for rapid 350 kW charging speeds.

Another notable detail shared with the SUV is the absence of a specific name. Aehra has opted not to assign individual names to its models, leading us to conclude that the sedan will simply be referred to as the Aehra Sedan, as suggested by Perini himself.

Aehra’s entrance into the luxury EV arena is undoubtedly marked by audacity and determination. With a promising lineup featuring striking designs and cutting-edge technology, Aehra is positioned to make a resounding impact in the industry. As automotive enthusiasts eagerly await the Milano Monza Motor Show, it becomes evident that Aehra is primed to leave an indelible mark on the future of luxury electric vehicles.
