ABT Sportsline teamed up with Cupra for 2023 Formula E season

ABT Sportsline has teamed up with Cupra, both of whom are ready to take on Formula E in 2023. Cupra is the motorsport division of the Spanish manufacturer SEAT, which is under the Volkswagen Group umbrella.

The ABT Cupra Formula E Team, will make its first appearance in the official test in Valencia from 13-16 December 2022. Previously, both had success in the Extreme E event, winning the season finale in Uruguay.

“Formula E is a unique motorsport platform for the world’s leading automaker, to create emotion and continue to prove that electric motorbikes are not boring, they go hand in hand with extreme performance,” said Wayne Griffiths, CEO of Cupra.

Marking the collaboration between the two, the release of the latest livery, with a dark blue base color, accented with neon green lines, gives a futuristic and sustainable impression.

This team, will start with the composition of Robin Frijns who moved from Envision Racing, and the returning German driver, Nico Mueller. Both will drive development cars from Mahindra Racing.

ABT has competed as a regular team from the Formula E grid since 2014, until a year’s absence in 2021 – 2022. Became one of the most successful teams by bagging 47 podiums.
