ABB E-Mobility recently showcased its latest innovation, the HVC360, a depot charging solution for electric bus and truck fleets, at the UITP event in Barcelona. This cutting-edge product allows for the connection of up to four charging stations, regardless of whether they utilize CCS (Combined Charging System) or current collectors.

The HVC360’s control cabinet delivers a continuous charging power of up to 360 kW. It offers the capability to simultaneously connect up to four charging stations within a range of 100 meters, with the “Long Distance Package” extending this range to 150 meters.

One of the standout features of the HVC360 is its remarkable flexibility. The control cabinet supports all charging interfaces concurrently, enabling the connection of various configurations. For example, the HVC Panto-down or Panto-up Depot Set and a CCS interface can be linked simultaneously.

Chris Nordh, Global Head of the Fleet & Transit business at ABB E-mobility, emphasized the exceptional quality, power density, and global interoperability of the HVC360. He expressed excitement about how this solution will assist customers of all sizes in reducing operating costs and emissions, as the heavy vehicle sector continues its progress toward electrification.

Sales of the HVC360 are slated to commence in late September. Although pricing details have not been disclosed, ABB has stated that the HVC360 is more than 50 percent cheaper than its predecessor while occupying only half the space. The control cabinet stands just over two meters tall and measures 1.17 x 0.77 meters in width, featuring a cream white (RAL 9002) stainless steel housing.

ABB reports that the HVC360 is compatible with Plug&Charge technology, allowing for convenient charging. Furthermore, the device benefits from over-the-air software updates and can also receive updates via the mobile phone network.
