Italian performance car specialist Abarth has introduced its latest creation, the all-electric model named the 600e, marking a significant milestone in the brand’s nearly 75-year history. The debut of the 600e comes alongside the final testing phase of its vibrant purple “Scorpionissima” launch edition, as Abarth prepares for a commercial shoot.

Founded as a veteran rally and performance car manufacturer, Abarth has evolved over the decades, establishing partnerships with various Italian automakers, notably Fiat, since the 1950s. While Fiat has since acquired Abarth, the brand continues to deliver distinct, high-performance vehicles leveraging Fiat components, adorned with its iconic scorpion badge.

Inspired by the Fiat 600 from the 1950s and ’60s, the Abarth 600e promises to be the brand’s most powerful vehicle to date, boasting enhanced horsepower and a striking “evil” Hypnotic Purple hue for its limited production launch edition.

According to recent announcements from Abarth and its parent company Stellantis, the unveiling of the 600e marks the commencement of production in Milan, Italy, following the completion of final testing. The initial production run will consist of a limited release of 1,949 units of the Scorpionissima launch edition.

Abarth highlights that the 600e stands out in the electric vehicle (EV) segment, featuring a mechanical slip differential to deliver exceptional handling, stability, and traction characteristic of the brand. Additionally, the vehicle is equipped with high-performance tires developed in collaboration with Formula E suppliers, suggesting its potential as a track-focused car.

Performance enthusiasts can anticipate harnessing the 600e’s 240 horsepower in the Scorpionissima variant for exhilarating track experiences. While Fiat has confirmed plans to reintroduce the all-electric 500e in the US, Abarth has not disclosed similar intentions at present. Further details regarding the 600e remain scarce, but Abarth assures that more information will be forthcoming.
