Hyundai has announced the 2025 Kona Electric, maintaining its status as one of the most affordable electric vehicle options in the U.S. with starting prices under $35,000. The latest iteration introduces a new, sporty N Line model featuring sleek design enhancements.
Five years after its debut, the Kona Electric received a comprehensive update in 2024, boasting an “EV-derived” design. The 2024 model showcased improvements across the board, including extended range, increased interior space, and a contemporary redesign. Notable exterior features included a pixelated seamless light bar, an upgraded nose, and active grille shutters.
The interior of the 2024 Kona Electric was also revamped, featuring Hyundaiâs next-generation infotainment system with dual 12.3-inch driver display and infotainment screens, Apple CarPlay, and Wireless Android Auto support.
For 2025, Hyundai has further refined the Kona Electric’s design, particularly with the N Line variant. This model includes N Line-specific elements such as front and rear bumpers, side skirts, and 19-inch wheels. It also features sports seats with red stitching, additional N Line badging, and red accents on the wheel and dashboard for a sportier look.
Hyundai stated that the new Kona Electric N Line will “redefine electric vehicle style,” emphasizing the sporty enhancements in its latest model. The 2025 Kona Electric N Line will start at $39,670, including a $1,395 destination fee, while the base SE model will be priced at $34,270.
The 2025 Kona Electric retains its battery options of 48.6 kWh and 64.8 kWh. The base SE model, equipped with the smaller battery, offers a range of up to 200 miles, powered by a front electric motor generating up to 133 horsepower and 188 lb-ft of torque. The N Line, SEL, and Limited models feature a more powerful motor, delivering up to 201 horsepower. The N Line, powered by the larger battery, achieves a range of up to 230 miles, while the SEL and Limited trims can reach up to 261 miles. All models support fast charging, allowing a 10% to 80% charge in 43 minutes.
