Smart is set to broaden its #1 line-up in Europe with the introduction of new entry-level trims, making the electric vehicle more accessible to budget-conscious customers. The new ‘Pure’ and ‘Pure+’ trims will join the existing range by early summer, with Austria already offering these options for the all-electric urban crossover.
According to a Smart spokesperson, “The addition of the Pure and Pure+ trims to the Smart #1 line-up reflects our commitment to providing a wider range of options for customers, ensuring that there is a suitable choice for every budget.”
The Smart #1 Pure and Pure+ trims will be equipped with a permanent magnet synchronous motor in the rear, delivering 200 kW and 343 Nm of torque. Both trims offer similar performance, with acceleration from 0 to 100 kph in 6.7 seconds and a top speed of 180 kph. However, the range differs, with the #1 Pure featuring a 49 kWh LFP battery pack and the #1 Pure+ boasting a 66 kWh NCM battery pack.
Charging capabilities also vary between the trims. The #1 Pure supports up to 7.4 kW on AC and 130 kW on DC, with a 5.5-hour charging time from 10 to 80% on AC and 30 minutes on DC. The #1 Pure+ supports up to 22 kW on AC and 150 kW on DC, with a 3-hour charging time on AC and the same 30 minutes on DC.
Both trims come with CyberSparks LED headlights, 18-inch Spark wheels, electrically extending flush-fitted door handles, and LED tail lamps for a sleek appearance. Inside, they feature a 12.8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 9.2-inch full HD digital instrument cluster, fabric seats, and a fabric-wrapped dashboard. Safety features include Adaptive Cruise Control with stop & go, smart pilot assist, and four rear parking sensors.
In Austria, the Smart #1 Pro and Smart #1 Pure+ are priced at âŹ36,200 and âŹ41,200 respectively. With a âŹ1,810 summer bonus, a âŹ2,400 e-mobility bonus, and âŹ3,000 funding from the Federal Ministry for Climate Protection, Environment, Energy, Mobility, Innovation, and Technology, the prices are reduced to âŹ28,990 and âŹ33,990, making them more affordable for customers.
