In a strategic move to expand its Supercharger network, Tesla has announced that four additional automakers will gain access to the renowned charging infrastructure starting in Spring 2024. This development comes on the heels of Tesla’s recent collaboration with Ford, which saw Ford EV drivers gaining access to over 15,000 Superchargers across North America.
Ford made history as the inaugural automaker to sign a groundbreaking agreement with Tesla, agreeing to adopt NACS (Tesla’s proprietary charge connector) for its future EVs. This move also granted Ford EV owners the coveted access to Tesla’s extensive Supercharger network.

Since Ford’s milestone deal, a domino effect has ensued, with nearly every major automaker following suit in adopting NACS technology. Despite this widespread adoption, the onboarding process appears to be taking place gradually.

Tesla recently updated its website, introducing a dedicated page on NACS enabling, under the banner of “Charging for All.” The page highlights the upcoming integration of four automakers into the Supercharger network this spring:
- Rivian
- General Motors
- Volvo
- Polestar
While Ford and General Motors were initially slated to gain access in February, the rollout is expected to continue in the coming months. Tesla’s move to extend Supercharger access to a broader range of automakers signals a significant step towards enhancing the accessibility and convenience of electric vehicle charging infrastructure.
