Ekoenergetyka, a high-power electric vehicle infrastructure, has secured a contract to supply up to 140 chargers for electric buses to Nobina, the largest public transportation operator in Scandinavia. The chargers, including the Axon Easy 120kW and 180kW models, will be installed at four bus depots in Stockholm, Sweden, by January 2025.

Nobina boasts the largest zero-emission bus fleet in Scandinavia and employs 13,000 people across four countries. Ekoenergetyka, which already provides 20% of Europe’s charging stations for municipal buses, sees this contract as a significant step in its expansion in the Nordic region, one of the world’s fastest-growing markets for electric vehicles.

“This contract is an important vote of confidence in Ekoenergetyka, from a major player on a demanding market,” said Bartosz Kubik, CEO and Co-Founder of Ekoenergetyka. “Our relationship with Nobina is off to a great start, and we’re proud to be working with them as they build the future of sustainable transportation in Stockholm and throughout the Nordic region.”

Nobina, serving 1 million people daily, is dedicated to improving urban mobility while reducing environmental impact. The Axon Easy DC charging stations by Ekoenergetyka are renowned for their efficiency and reliability, making them ideal for fast charging in urban settings.

“We are pleased with the initial results of our relationship with Ekoenergetyka, and we look forward to working closely with them,” said Lisa Sievert, Electrification at Nobina. “Our customers demand high-quality, reliable green transportation, and with Ekoenergetyka, we’ve found a partner who can help us deliver.”

Ekoenergetyka’s growth is supported by Enterprise Investors, a leading Central European private equity fund, which acquired a significant minority stake last year. The fund plans to invest over €45 million in e-mobility projects.

Ekoenergetyka, founded in 2009 as an academic research project, now employs more than 1,000 people and provides round-the-clock remote monitoring and repair services for its charging stations from its headquarters in Zielona Góra, western Poland. Their advanced systems allow them to address almost 60% of reported issues remotely.
